Reef City Catering in partnership with camp quality is hosting the event this year. Jazz enthusiast from all over central Queensland will converge on Rockhampton’s iconic riverbank precinct, to celebrate the passing of winter and the coming of spring.
Once again a rich multi layered program of music performances will be presented in the city’s centre in an afternoon of outstanding food, beautiful people and sizzling jazz! Jazz on quay is a must for all lovers of great music and vibrant life.
What’s New
In 2010 big River Jazz was reinvented and moved to the location of historical Quay Street, with the beautiful backdrop of the Fitzroy River. Festival goers had a choice of dining in a five star private marquee or enjoying canapés under one of the many public marquees lining the river bank, or just taking it all in under a beautiful star filled sky.
This year will again see a myriad of choices for festival goes, including VIP corporate marquees serving a delectable three course meal.
Saturdays open air performance on the 5th November will feature a broad spectrum of jazz including contemporary jazz, swing, funk tunes and even the smooth Bosa Novas. These smooth and sexy ensembles will have you cha-cha-chaing to their seductive sounds in no time. As well as the sounds of the big bands, wall-o-sound brass arrangements and the relentless rhythm sections these performers will ignite the dance floor and leave you longing for more.
